Independence Day Celebrations in School, 2023

A special assembly was conducted on the 8th of August focusing on the 1857 Mutiny, depicting the stories of Mangal Pandey and Rani of Jhansi through poems and narrations and highlighting the Quit India Movement. The assembly displayed a zestful recitation of the poem “Jhansi Ki Rani” and a recitation on Mangal Pandey by Class 4 & 5 students.

A play titled “Hamari Veeranganayein” was performed by Class 4 students. This play was held on the 11th and 12th of August. On 12th August, the assembly started with the “prabhat pheri”. Adorned by patriotic music and dances the play on both days depicted inspiring tales of courage and aspirations of women freedom fighters to free their motherland.

Lots of activities were organized in the school on 14th, besides flag hoisting and prabhat pheri.

Some of these were:

Kite flying for classes III – V
Laddoo serving to the rest of the school, by the students of class V
Students of classes II III and IV watched patriotic movies
Nursery, Prep and I students did craft work

An informal gathering of parents, teachers and students was held on 15th August. Flag hoisting followed by impromptu patriotic songs were a part of the celebration.
