A special assembly was conducted on October 20th, by the teachers and students to celebrate Dussehra, Navratri and Durga Puja. whee the focus was on the significance and cultural aspects of these community festivals. It started with the singing of Rabindranath Tagore’s Anondo Loke. Tulika Chakraborty, one of the SST teachers, along with two students – Urna and Haniya, gave presentations on West Bengal.
The assembly concluded with teachers doing the dandiya and dhunuchi dance. The highlight of this year’s assembly was the performance of the skilled dhakis from West Bengal who played the dhak and kashor live on stage. The day ended with a lively flash mob by the students and teachers, accompanied by the dhakis.
