An assembly was conducted on April 13 for classes 2 to 5 on occasion of Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti.
The assembly began with the prayer Swayam Vidhaata and was followed by a talk on the harvest festivals in the country around this time of the year. The highlighted festivals were Baisakhi in Punjab, Bikhoti in Uttarakhand, Rongali Bihu in Assam, Poyela Boishaakh in Bengal, Vishu in Kerala and Puthandu in Tamil Nadu. Children energetically sang the popular Punjabi folk song Mitraa Ayi Basakhi. Students were told about the contribution of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar towards making of the Indian Constitution. The assembly ended by few teachers singing Rabindranath Tagore’s famous song for the Bengali new year Esho He Boishaakh Esho Esho.
